Description: This workshop is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the laws and regulations governing student and employee records privacy. Participants will gain practical knowledge and strategies for ensuring compliance and safeguarding sensitive information as well as what information can be released during and after workplace and other compliance-related investigations (e.g. Title IX, Title VI, etc.).

Protecting Students from Discrimination Based on Shared Ancestry or Ethnic Characteristics
Presenter: Attorneys for Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights (OCR)
Description: OCR is the federal agency tasked with enforcing several Federal civil rights laws that prohibit discrimination in programs or activities at institutions that receive federal funding from the Department of Education. Learn more about how the Department of Education is responding to discrimination on the basis of Shared Ancestry, including Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia. At this training, OCR Attorneys will present on how institutions can support their communities with respect to non-discrimination, specifically in regards to topics such as Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia. This training is geared towards all faculty and staff and will provide guidance on cultivating a more inclusive environment in the face of current world events. OCR Attorneys plan to provide a presentation and then allow for questions at the end of the session.
